I found your site today and it was heart-warming to read that you all craft for other people's good. It is a wonderful way to use our time and supplies this way.

It was lovely to find a place where I could share what I and a number of cardmakers around Australia do on a yearly basis for our Troops serving in deployed positions overseas.

We make all kinds of cards for our Troops, sending them off at the end of October each year to enable them to write cards home to family and friends. When they are deployed, our Troops cannot usually buy cards in English, or cards that celebrate our Australian holidays and special occasions. Christmas cards are very popular as are birthday, anniversary, sympathy, get well, Valentines Day, Easter, thank you cards, and just cards to say hello or I miss you.

If you would like to see what we have done in past years, my web page tells and shows much more, including an address for people who want to send handmade cards for the 2018 Cards for Troops drive.

I hope this is the kind of support and help that you are looking for in Crafting4Good.

I wish you all much happiness and crafty days as you help others.

I never realised!
by: Adele

Hi Susan, fabulous to hear from you and I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I had never fully realised what 'cards for troops' meant ... I always thought people were sending cards TO people in the forces, but you just made me realise they are FOR them to send on to home *blush*

I love your page too - so many great pictures of you and your readers 'crafting for good'...and I love the glitter warning!

Thank you for your kind words too, we hope to encourage lots of others to submit their stories because we know that there are lots of crafters who enjoy their hobby to help themselves and others.
