1st Wakefield Green Trail

We joined the first ever Wakey Green Trail organised by Wakefield Council and Renewi, along with other eco-themed businesses and organisations providing activities in The Ridings on 24th September, 2022.

Our window display was updated to a jungle theme (all from donations given to us) with a 'find the hidden animals' along with a community colouring project. All ages helped colour our giant jungle poster, and the results are now on display in our shop, together with the artist signatures of those who wanted to leave their names.

Our community free box was well-stocked for people to help themselves, and it helps us recycle things that we wouldn’t normally sell in store.

A 15% discount was available for those that shopped with us on the day - and some customers were happy to turn down the discount!

Finally, one of our volunteers showed off her knitting and answered knitting questions: sharing skills and advice is something we champion and is what makes a community grow...
